IVECO
Founded in 1966, Aifo (Applicazioni Industriali Fiat-OM) changed its name to Iveco Aifo in 1983, its purpose being to convert Iveco's diesel products and market them all over the world. The company tac kles every strategic aspect of this specialist mission. To guarantee the functionality and reliability of its products, Iveco Aifo performs complete conversion cycles from design to testing, in its plant in Pregnana Milanese, which stands in 118,000 square metres and employs over 500 people. The various product lines are designed and built to respond to the particular demands of the end user. Output is programmed to guarantee maximum flexibility and a high quality standard. Numerous human and technological resources are dedicated to the implementation of complete projects that guarantee the functionality and reliability of the conversions. Rigorous simulation of actual operation is performed in the computerised test rooms of the research and development department, including overloading and durability tests. Subsequently, at the end of the conversion process, all Iveco Aifo products are subjected to strict testing procedures in the test cells of the plant which were equipped specifically to deal with industrial and marine engines and electric generating sets.
ENGINES FOR AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS
The objective of the AGRICULTURAL sector is to extend the engine range to meet the requirements that will emerge from the new anti-pollution legislation about to be introduced (this year in the U.S.A. and next year in Europe). The company therefore concluded the revamping of the engine range that will cover power deliveries from 40 to 400 kW (from 2.5 to 17.2 litres), with both basic and customised versions, from the tractor to the grape harvester. The engines are available with either conventional mechanical injection or electronic injection (with either a pump injector or with a Unijet common rail system). All the engines are designed to meet the requirements of the next stages of the anti-pollution standards without needing to be overhauled.
ENGINES FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS The Industrial Sector is divided into four areas of application: "Construction machinery, Lifting equipment, Special vehicles, Stationary applications". Until now, the development guidelines have focused on developing a strong market-oriented approach which will be able to constantly improve the skills necessary to manage the process of Customer Satisfaction, through specialisation. These areas of application, together with the Marketing division, are responsible for product definition, management of marketing processes and initiatives to adapt the product to the customer. The future development lines are based on the introduction of new engine families which will completely renew the range, in just a few months, making it possible to grasp new market opportunities. The engine range delivers from 50 to 380 kW.ENGINES FOR MARINE APPLICATIONS
The glorious past of Iveco Aifo's Marine Sector boasts a large number of successes in the racing, professional and leisure sectors and is currently represented by a vast range of basic Iveco engines, adapted for marine use with components such as: heat exchangers, sea water pumps, etc., optimised by decades of experience in the field. Performance that is not extreme, durability, reliability, low consumption and easy maintenance are the main elements of the company's manufacturing philosophy that has always been a feature of the leisure range. Six families derived from Iveco Diesel engines and two families based on Lombardini engines are the backbone of the Marine Range. The launch in 2001 of the marine version of the Cursor 8 with output of 368 kW marks a significant turnaround for its evolution and electronic management. Electronic management offers new opportunities to tackle the impelling demands of the leisure boat sector which is oriented increasingly towards high specific powers, limited dimensions, weights and consumption, but above all towards low acoustic and gassy emissions that comply with the anti-pollution standards soon to be introduced in the marine sector. <see more> |
